Scientifically proven health benefits of using hemp products

1. Normalizes cholesterol level

Official reference: “Alpha-linolenic acid contributes to the maintenance of normal blood cholesterol levels.” (ID 509)

Hemp seeds and oil are rich in alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), an omega-3 fatty acid that has been scientifically proven to be effective in maintaining normal cholesterol levels.

Why important?Normal cholesterol levels are essential for cardiovascular health, especially for people at increased risk of heart disease. Consuming hemp seeds and oil in your diet helps reduce bad cholesterol (LDL), thereby promoting long-term heart health and reducing the risk of atherosclerosis. In addition, hemp seeds offer an ideal omega-3 to omega-6 ratio (3:1 or 2:1), which is better compared to alternative sources.

2. Improves heart function

Official reference: "Alpha-linolenic acid promotes normal heart function." (ID 579)

Alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) contained in hemp seeds and oil is scientifically recognized as a supporter of heart health, promoting normal heart rhythm and blood flow.

Why important?
A healthy heart is the foundation for an active and healthy lifestyle. ALA helps reduce inflammation and improves heart function, which is especially important for preventing heart disease and improving overall well-being. The balanced omega-3/6 ratio (3:1 or 2:1) of hemp seeds provides better heart health support than many other sources.

3. Promotes an increase in muscle mass

Official reference:
"Protein contributes to the increase in muscle mass." (ID 20)

Hemp protein is a complete source of protein, containing all nine essential amino acids, and has been proven to help build muscle mass.

Why important?
Building muscle mass is especially important for athletes, physically active people and vegans who lack animal protein sources. Hemp protein provides an easily digestible and high-quality protein that supports muscle recovery and growth after physical activity.

4. Maintains muscle mass

Official reference:
"Protein contributes to the maintenance of muscle mass." (ID 21)

Hemp protein helps maintain muscle mass, especially important for older people or those who want to stay in shape.

Why important?
Maintaining muscle mass prevents muscle loss associated with aging and supports mobility and independence. Hemp protein is a natural and high-quality solution suitable for daily nutrition.

5. Supports bone health

Official:
"Protein promotes normal bone health." (ID 22)

Hemp protein strengthens bone structure and density, which is scientifically proven with an EU-approved claim.

Why important?
Healthy bones are essential for osteoporosis prevention and overall physical health, especially for menopausal women and the elderly. Hemp protein offers a natural solution for strengthening bones.

Hemp seed oil contains 50–60% linoleic acid (omega-6 fatty acid), which is scientifically proven to be a means of maintaining normal skin and hair health.

Why important?

Linoleic acid helps maintain skin moisture levels and hair structure, preventing dryness and brittleness. This is especially important for people with dry skin or hair problems, making hemp oil a natural solution for daily care.

7. Reduces the risk of chronic diseases

Official reference:

"Vitamin E helps protect cells from oxidativestress." (ID 161)

Hemp seeds and oil are rich in vitamin E, a powerful fat-soluble antioxidant. Hemp seed oil boasts three times the vitamin E content of flaxseed, making it an excellent source.

Why is it important?

Vitamin E protects cell membranes from free radicals that can cause oxidative stress, thereby reducing the risk of chronic diseases and supporting skin and body health. This is especially valuable for people with high physical exertion or those who live in a polluted environment.

8. Promotes regular bowel movement, prevents constipation.

Official:

"Fiber promotes normal bowel function." (ID 428)

Hemp seeds contain 10–18% fiber, of which 17% is insoluble fiber, which is an important factor in supporting digestive health.

Why important?

The insoluble fiber that is prevalent in hemp seeds promotes regular bowel movements, preventing constipation and improving intestinal health. They also create a feeling of fullness, which can help maintain a healthy weight. Hemp seeds are especially beneficial for individuals with digestive disorders or those who want to improve the balance of intestinal microflora.

Hemp seed oil does not contain fiber, as it is removed during the pressing process,Therefore, the health claims for digestion only apply to the seeds.

For maximum benefit, it is recommended to use raw or lightly roasted hemp seeds, as heat treatment can affect the fiber structure.

Ideal Omega-3/6 Ratio

Research conducted outside the EU

1. Anti-inflammatory effect

Research suggests that components of hemp seeds, such as gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) and phytol, may reduce inflammation associated with various diseases. These benefits have been confirmed in studies conducted outside the EU, including in Mexico and the USA.

Positive effects:
GLA, found in hemp seeds, has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties, which canr help reduce pain caused by arthritis. A study published in the journal Frontiers in Nutrition shows that phytol from hemp seed oil can reduce inflammation in human monocytes-macrophages, suggesting its potential anti-inflammatory effects. This study was conducted in Mexico and is not included in the EU health guidelines.

2. Improving digestion (relief of constipation)

Studies conducted in Asia and published in US journals confirm that hemp seeds can relieve functional constipation, documented in studies conducted outside the EU.

Positive influence:
Hemp seed tablets have been shown to be effective in relieving functional constipation by improving bowel motility and reducing symptoms. A study published in the American Journal of Gastroenterology indicates that a 7.5 g dose of hemp seed tablets is effective in improving bowel motility compared to placebo. This study was conducted in Hong Kong.

Positive impact:
Hemp seeds contain high levels of arginine, which forms nitric oxide, helping to relax blood vessels and reduce inflammatory markers such as C-reactive protein (CRP). A 2023 study of over 13,000 participants published in the US shows that arginine intake reduces CRP levels, which are associated with heart disease risk.
